When ever I press the on switch, the camera switches on ,lens comes forward and immediately retracted back and in the display all it says 'zoom error'. I also tried turning the camera on and holding down the shutter button but that did nothing. Dropped my Canon SD600 that I bought off eBay and the lens was stuck out and crooked. Best thing you can do (if its not covered in the troubleshooting part of the manual) is to take it into a camera shop and see what they say.
