Fix #7b: The most extreme of the fixes. But note that I DON'T recommend keeping the cable installed during Fix 6 as you may damage the AV port while tapping the camera. i've tried all the suggestions but none of them are working :(it says lens error, restart camera. Clean again.
Just got home yesterday and i tried tip #7 today. however i fixed it by taking it apart, the top cover thingy, and then pushing the lens back down into place. The logo is showing up dark as much of the battery power is likely going to the lens motor trying to overcome the sand. some sand came out, and the camera started working. Worked for me also.
